Alternative Health Index is a directory of alternative health associations and organizations. It exists for two kinds of visitors: people looking for a trustworthy professional organization in a field like acupuncture, Reiki, or herbal medicine, and the associations themselves, who can check and improve their listing. This page shows both groups how to get the most out of the site.
If you are looking for an association
Start with the categories. The homepage groups the directory into categories, one for each field of practice: Acupuncture Associations, Energy Medicine and Reiki Associations, Traditional Chinese Medicine Associations, Reflexology, and many more. Open the category that matches what you are looking for and you will see every association listed in that field, each with a short description of what it does.
Or use search. If you already know the name of an organization, type it into the search bar and go straight to its listing.
Read the listing page. Each listing gives you the association’s name, a description of its work, its location, and a direct link to its own website. From there you can check the association’s member directory, its training and certification standards, and its events, all on the association’s own site.
Go deeper with the articles. The Blog carries beginner friendly guides, starting with “What Is Reflexology? A Beginner’s Guide to How It Works“. The Healing Modalities from Around the World section introduces one healing tradition at a time, covering its origins, what a session is like, what the evidence supports, and safety, and each article links back into the matching directory category so you can find the professional associations behind the practice.
A note on what a listing means: being listed here is not an endorsement, and Alternative Health Index does not rank or rate associations. The directory helps you find the organizations; their own sites carry the detail on credentials and membership.
If you represent an association
Check your listing. Find your organization through its category or search, and read the listing the way a visitor would. If the name, description, location, or website link needs correcting, contact us through the Contact page and we will update it.
Not listed yet? If your association belongs in one of the categories and is not in the directory, reach out through the Contact page with your organization’s name, website, and a short description, and we will review it for inclusion.
Show your listing. Associations that are listed can place the “Listed on Alternative Health Index” badge on their own website. The badge links back to your listing here, so your visitors can find you in the directory.
Questions. Anything else about the directory, a listing, or the articles: the Contact page is the fastest route.
